I had the great opportunity to be a guest on Tennis Warehouse’s Talk Tennis Podcast with their recent episode. Talking with Michelle, we covered a lot of bases regarding tennis and fitness for the junior, collegiate, adult, and aging adult on the podcast. My goal stepping on to the Talk Tennis podcast has been my objective the past two years and is simple: increase the knowledge for the community and increase the level of physical preparation for the sport. 

Training for tennis is different considering a few variables to a player’s development and growth. Focusing on tactical and technical components on the court have to be supplemented with physical and psychological training. This quadrant is visible in many sports, but when training for tennis, you have to be mindful of the sport demands, player’s practice time, upcoming tournaments, development stage and much more. Training for tennis also has to consider more so than other sports the amount of time spent on the “practice field”: the court.

The Talk Tennis podcast has been a staple discussing community efforts across the nation, discussions on equipment, players, and now fitness. Your level of play should not be the limiting factor with how you should physically prepare and keep yourself active for an amazing sport that can last a lifetime.
