My question to you reading this:

Let me help you figure out how to develop a SMART goal and understand if you need help in your journey.

When developing fitness New Year’s resolution, you want to have a SMART approach. This abbreviation is broken down into Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Based.

  • Being specific requires you to state out in what you want to achieve.
  • Those goals need to be measurable, or in other terms, determined by an instrument or tool to see change. So if your goal is lowering body-fat, there are tools to determine if you are heading on your way.
  • Attainable goals require an honest understanding that you’re not lying to yourself when you’re saying you’re gonna lose 20 lbs in on month. Start with smaller goals on a bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual timeline.
  • Making it all relevant allows you to make sure you stay on track. If you want to finish a half-marathon by the end of the year, make sure you’re engaging in 5k and 10k runs as you build up your endurance.
  • Finally Time-Based is all about setting a specific-end date for your task and prioritizing any periodization towards it.
